YouTube Debuts New “Recap” — Here’s How to Get Your 2025 Viewing Insights

YouTube has introduced its first-ever year-end Recap feature, giving users a personalized summary of their 2025 viewing activity. The feature highlights what you watched the most, the creators you followed, and how your interests evolved throughout the year.

What Is YouTube Recap?

YouTube Recap is a customized year-in-review that showcases:

  • Your most-watched videos, creators, and categories

  • Your top interests across long-form videos, Shorts, and downloads

  • Viewing insights across devices like mobile, desktop, and TV (as long as you were signed in)

  • A playful “viewer personality type” based on your viewing habits — such as Skill Builder, Dreamer, Connector, Adventurer, Creative Spirit, or others

If you consumed a lot of music on YouTube, your Recap may also highlight your top artists and songs for the year.

How to Access Your 2025 YouTube Recap

YouTube is rolling out Recap globally, and many users can already access it. Here’s how to check yours:

On Mobile (Android/iOS)

  1. Open the YouTube app and sign in.

  2. Tap the “You” section at the bottom.

  3. Look for the banner that says “Your Recap is here.”

  4. Tap to view your personalized 2025 summary.

On Desktop

  1. Sign in to YouTube.

  2. Click your profile picture.

  3. If eligible, you’ll see a Recap prompt.

  4. You can also try visiting youtube.com/recap directly.

Who Can Get a Recap?

YouTube Recap appears only if:

  • Your watch history was turned on throughout the year

  • You didn’t permanently pause or auto-delete your history

  • Your account is eligible (some restricted accounts might not receive it)

If any of these conditions weren’t met, Recap may not appear.
